A key element of the energy transition in Germany lies in green hydrogen. The current production of electrolyzers is mostly done in a manufactory-like manner. By digital planning and preparing an assembly with automated, manual and collaborative elements, the manufacturing of water electrolyzers can be scaled economically. In this paper, a reference process from electrolyzer assembly is selected and analyzed for the complete mapping of a data structure. The determined data structure can be used as a basis for a digital twin.

The balanced provision of information ensures shorter training times, higher acceptance among employees and can be used directly at the workplace. For system implementation, organizational factors must also be considered in accordance of a socio-technical system design.

Modern logistic processes are still characterized by manual labour. In general, mainly unqualified or low-skilled employees are used to carry out value-added services. Individual workloads, employee skills and technical workplace equipment are linked in a developed system. By simulating the effect of changes in workplace equipment, optimizations can be identified. The self-developed algorithm can also be used in other industries.

Comparison and evaluation from research findings of 28 process models considering digitalization measures are presented. Furthermore, our own-developed process model, based upon interviews with professional managers, is reported. Our process model enables managers to deal with technology coming along with industry 4.0, such as the implementation of socio-technologies.
