In today’s prevailing buyers market, enterprises are more and more facing the necessity to meet the increasingly high requirements on delivery lead time, delivery reliability, quality and costs. Thus, the illustration, analysis and interpretation of logistic production processes becomes more and more important. For fulfilling the requirements mentioned before the production planning and control (PPC) can be supported efficiently by suitable controlling concepts. However, analyses from the Institute of Production Systems and Logistics (IFA) prove that current controlling concepts possess deficits. In this context the RFID-Technology can produce a relief. By using this technology it is possible to identify and track products contact-free and in real time. Nowadays, the applications are limited because the existing chips can only save, delete or rewrite the collected data. Proactive Controlling of Production Ramp-ups along the Value Chain

Due to shortening product life cycles and to the continuous enlargement of product ranges the ramp-up of production systems has become a significant criterion for innovation dynamics of producing companies. Besides the in-creasing technical complexity, a growing number of different parties are involved with different targets and interests. The result is a rising number of possible disturbances for the ramp-up process. In order to better control and shorten ramp-up projects, methods and tools have to be developed to manage the project along the complete value chain. The article gives an outlook on the ramp-up of the future by describing an approach that is the basis for a research project supported by the German ministry of research and education.

With Standardised Processes on the Right Track to Customised Factories The approaches of factory planning that have been developed many years ago have to be adjusted to today’s challenges. Therefore the basic systematics of the Supply Chain Operations Reference- Model (SCOR-Model) are consulted and transferred to the processes of factory planning. The aim is to accelerate the planning process and to generate planning results in a higher quality while decreasing the planning effort. This will be achieved by use of a consistent process orientation which bases on standardised processes, field-tested methods, models and tools and on best-practice examples. This article explains the system and contents of the Process Model of Factory Planning and will give an impression of the first software-based prototype.
