Potentials and Application of the Industrial Metaverse

Convergence from simulation to reality
Oliver Petrovic, Yannick Dassen, Christian Brecher
This paper deals with the concept of the Industrial Metaverse and its potential impact on the manufacturing industry. First, the possibilities of the Industrial Metaverse are explained in general and then possible resulting functionalities for production technology along the life cycle are presented. For the two topics "Synthetic Data Generation" and "Virtual Qualification" the implications of the Industrial Metaverse are considered more concretely.

Christian Brecher, Manuel Belke, Minh Trinh, Lukas Gründel, Oliver Petrovic
Data plays an important role in our world - including production technology. Businesses are faced with rising customer demands and competitive pressure. Furthermore, the trend towards smaller batch sizes and increasing variant diversity requires quick reactivity and agility. In order to make the right decisions under these circumstances, data must be generated and analyzed to derive insights. AI technologies are suitable to address the growing uncertainty and complexity. In the following, methods are described that are vital to master data processes for high-quality AI technologies.

Ultra-Precise Microstructures on Large Surfaces

Ultra-Precise Microstructures on Large Surfaces

A Challenge for Machine, Tool and Process
Christian Brecher, Sven Lange, Christian Wenzel, Frank Niehaus, Christian Peschke
The ultra-precise surface structuring by means of single crystal diamond tools can be applied for the flexible machining of optical components used in display or reflector-technologies, for light guiding elements or even for high precision mechanical or fluidical applications. By means of a sophisticated tuning of the machine, the tool and the process itself, an extreme precision in the sub-micron range, which is requested on behave of the applications, can be achieved on work pieces with a size of one square meter and more.
